Rubondo Island Camp is the only lodge on what is the largest island national park on Lake Victoria (and Africa). Pristine tropical forests teeming with birdlife provide a protected habitat for wildlife that includes wild chimpanzees, Colobus monkey sitatunga, elephant, giraffe and over 200 species of bird. Fish for iconic nile perch on a catch & release basis.

Chimpanzee habituation Experience

Introduction by Bernard Grizmek in the 1960's, there are now over 35 Chimps on the island, many of which re in the process of being habituated to humans

A birders paradise: With many endemic birds, the island is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 300 resident and migratory birds, including the African Grey parrot, pied kingfisher, and an extraordinary concentration of fish eagles.

Nature walks with guides Orchids and Butterflies: Rubondo Island is home to many different species of exotic orchid which in turn attract an exceptional variety of colourful butterflies.
